Nekesha Cozart
Nekesha Cozart began her career with FCPS as the Family Resource Center coordinator at Harrison Elementary. She later taught special education at Harrison and joined the staff at Carter G. Woodson Academy as a community liaison in 2013. She subsequently served as administrative dean, assistant principal, and acting program director. Cozart assumed her role as principal in July 2023.
Cozart holds a bachelor’s degree in family studies from the University of Kentucky and a master’s in learning behavior disorders from Georgetown College. She completed her Rank I, Principal Licensure Program, and Principal Licensure Program II at Asbury University.
