Q: How did your education at Carter G. Woodson help prepare you?
A: Attending a college preparatory program such as Carter G. Woodson Academy was not easy. The expectations were high, and teachers made you meet those expectations. Throughout my college career both undergraduate and graduate, I have kept those same expectations for myself. I also learned a variety of soft skills that have helped me through life. But the most important part of what CGWA did was instill the "Well Principles" in me that I still live by today.

Q: What is a professional highlight of your career?
A: One of my favorite moments the past couple of years has been sharing the moment with current students when they are accepted into Carter G. Woodson Academy and the picture we take at the convocation/jacket ceremony.

Q: What advice would you give students interested in your career field?
A: The road to becoming a certified teacher may be rough but do not give up! I am a living example that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve it.

Q: What is an important life lesson to share with current students and future graduates?
A: Go for it, get it, and graduate. Go after your dreams and keep fighting until you get the victory and graduate. This is your time to elevate! You are our future, and together we can make a change.
