Milken Winner Enjoys Red Carpet Treatment
Public fanfare in Southern California greeted the latest Milken Educator Award recipients – including Jacob Ball of Carter G. Woodson Academy – during a national forum at UCLA, where each received a $25,000 prize. Educators hailing from across the country gathered earlier this month to walk the red carpet, participate in powerful professional learning sessions, and “Celebrate, Elevate, and Activate” the K-12 teaching profession. The theme of this summer’s forum was “Unleashing Educator Leadership.”
In the fall of 2023-24, Ball and nearly 70 other educators were surprised in schoolwide assemblies where Milken and state education officials announced the recipients.
